Closing Digital Divides: Virtual Vocations Celebrates Remote Work During National Work and Family Month 2021
One of the web's largest remote job boards is celebrating National Work and Family Month with fresh content, limited-time offers, giveaways, and more for professionals and jobseekers on the hunt for flexible, virtual work.
TUCSON, Ariz., Oct. 7, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- This National Work and Family Month, one of the web's leading remote job boards is celebrating remote work and how it's helping close digital divides and bridge the gap between work and family for professionals in the U.S. and around the world.
For just 72 hours beginning Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, Virtual Vocations will be marking its sixth annual celebration of National Work and Family Month with the release of new and exclusive content for remote professionals and jobseekers, as well as limited-time discounts, giveaways, and more.
"As a family-owned company with a 100% remote team, we know that remote work is a real solution when it comes to having a successful career while enjoying fulfilling personal lives and relationships," said Virtual Vocations CEO and co-founder Laura Spawn. Remote work is a valuable tool, she said, that both employers and employees can use to "work toward closing digital divides, specifically where onsite work and remote work overlap."
Spanning from Oct. 11–13, Virtual Vocations' 2021 National Work and Family Month event aims to both celebrate the benefits of remote work for professionals and their families as well as support jobseekers as they navigate their quests for careers that will bring increased flexibility to their home and family lives.
"Over the past two years, we have started to see a shift in focus among professionals across all industries toward careers that offer more work-life balance, and that support their personal values and allow them to place relationships first," Spawn said. "We celebrate this increased awareness of how remote work can help bring about more fulfilling careers and relationships within our families and personal lives."
In addition to featuring online courses, downloadable content and worksheets, and other resources that are available free to registered members of Virtual Vocations as part of its Remote Career Center, the National Work and Family Month event will also include a live coaching session with Virtual Vocations' certified career coaches designed to help ensure jobseekers can find work that is both flexible and fulfilling.
Presented by Virtual Vocations' Career Services Division Manager Holly Leyva and resume writer and coach Paige Judnich, "Job Coaching: Using Personal Values to Guide Your Job Search" is available free to registered Virtual Vocations members and will premiere Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. ET (12 p.m. CT).
Throughout the three-day event, Virtual Vocations will also be polling parents who are currently on the hunt for remote work to find out what they're looking for in a new work from home job, whether that's increased flexibility and control over their time, a greater sense of security and stability in their careers and finances, or something else entirely.
Those who complete the survey by Wednesday, Oct. 13 will be entered to win one of three prize packages, each of which features resources meant to help jobseekers succeed in their efforts to find flexible, virtual work, including:
- A three-month subscription to Virtual Vocations
- A $50 Amazon gift card
- A resume review by a certified resume writer
- A "Virtual Vocations Home Office Swag Box" full of goodies to personalize and optimize your remote workspace
Starting Monday, Virtual Vocations will also be offering limited-time discounts of up to 40% off new memberships, which allow full access to a hand-screened database of more than 30,000 remote jobs, as well as Virtual Vocations career services, including expert resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile writing and personalized career coaching for remote jobseekers.
