CMEA Capital Announces New Additions to its Team
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (PRWEB) August 11, 2014 -- CMEA Capital today announced that Uday Sandhu and Drew Wilson have joined its investment and finance teams, respectively. Uday is working with CMEA’s growing IT, energy, and biotech public and later stage portfolios. Drew will be leading the firm’s portfolio valuation efforts.
“Uday brings recent experience in IT investing, combined with an in depth understanding of equity and debt markets to support our portfolio” said Faysal Sohail, a General Partner with CMEA Capital. “Drew’s addition to the team complements our internal finance team and his experience will be critical to the growth of CMEA funds.”
Prior to joining CMEA, Uday was an Associate with TriplePoint Capital, a venture capital firm, where he invested in both early and late stage technology companies, including Shazam, Lytro, Main Street Hub, and CircleUp. Before TriplePoint, Uday worked with the technology investment banking teams of Oppenheimer & Co. and Cantor Fitzgerald. Uday received a B.S. in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at the Northwestern University.
Drew joined CMEA from GSV Asset Management which manages both public and private products including GSV Capital, a publicly traded BDC providing access to rapidly growing private, VC backed companies. Some of these companies include Chegg, Dropbox, Facebook, Jawbone, Lyft, Palantir, Spotify and Twitter. While at GSV, Drew participated in multiple secondary debt and equity offerings and was exposed to various facets of public and private company operations and finance, with one of his main responsibilities being the valuations of the GSVC portfolio. Drew received a B.S. in Economics-Finance and a Liberal Studies Concentration in Global Perspectives from Bentley University.
