CMR Molecular Imaging selected by Baheya Breast Cancer Center as the provider of a High Resolution Breast PET Imaging System

CMR Molecular Imaging and its representative in Egypt, Global Technology, have been selected by the Baheya Breast Cancer Center to provide a Solo II™ High Resolution Breast PET Imaging (BPI) System with biopsy guidance capabilities.

The Solo II High Resolution PET System provides metabolic visualization of lesions in small body parts. Through a unique combination of gentle immobilization, advanced photonics and imaging processing, the scanner provides tomographic images with a resolution as small as 1.6 mm. The Stereo Navigator® PET Guided Biopsy Accessory, the only FDA cleared PET biopsy guidance device, confirms a biopsy path with a 3-D needle trajectory image that enables physicians to target and guide biopsy devices to obtain adequate tissues samples for pathologic evaluation.

“The addition of a Solo II Breast PET Imaging System to our institution is part of the vision of the Baheya Foundation of equipping the Breast Cancer Center with the most advanced technology for early detection, treatment planning and monitoring of breast cancer,” said Dr. Mohamed Gomaa, Director of Imaging of the Center.

“It is an honor that the Baheya Foundation is incorporating the CMR breast PET technology to their path of care in order to significantly improve cancer detection and treatment for their patients,” said Dr. Jenny Matsiota, CMR Molecular Imaging International Business Development Manager.

About Baheya Breast Cancer Center: Baheya Breast Cancer Center is a 5 floor, 10,000 square meter, facility, operated by The Baheya Foundation for Early Detection and Treatment of Breast Cancer. The Foundation was established by the family of Mrs. Baheya Wahby who was diagnosed and passed away after losing her battle with cancer. During her treatment the family noticed the amount of suffering women from low income families go through being unable to afford the treatment. To honor her memory, all stages of treatment are free, from early detection, surgery, chemo and radiation therapy, psychological, clinical nutrition and therapeutic therapy. For information visit
