University of Colorado Boulder, Los Angeles Pierce College and University of Minnesota System Applauded for Accomplishments in Successful Transfer and Degree Achievement Initiatives

Winners were announced today during CollegeSource's Annual Conference, which was held in person in San Diego. The 2022 Sourcie Awards were granted to the University of Minnesota System (Twin Cities, Duluth, Morris, Crookston, and Rochester) for Innovation in Advancing Systemwide Positive Student Outcomes, University of Colorado Boulder for Exceptional Model for Transfer Student Success, and to Dr. Cristina Rodriguez from Los Angeles Pierce College for Superior Work in Advancing Statewide Transfer Evaluation.

At the University of Minnesota System, teams worked eagerly to enhance their degree audits and processes serving students with transfer credit during their Transfer Articulation and Degree Audit (TADA) upgrade project. During the upgrade, they recognized an opportunity to simplify degree audits enterprise-wide. As a result, the institution achieved better visibility into student mindsets. In addition, they leveraged the full capabilities of CollegeSource solutions, including uAchieve, TES and Transferology to streamline the transfer credit evaluation process for students. Using TES, the Twin Cities transfer evaluation process was completely transformed from a decentralized unreliable paper process to a high functioning, completely online central process.
One of the top priorities at the University of Colorado Boulder is to remove barriers for students during the transfer process by utilizing Transferology and TransferologyLab. Their latest initiative resulted in the implementation of strategies to facilitate successful transitions to CU Boulder for incoming transfer students. As a result, prospective transfer students can now schedule a one-hour appointment to discuss several topics, including admissions criteria, transferability and applicability of transfer credit, graduation timeline, course selection for required admissions prerequisites and to facilitate a future transfer. Through TransferologyLab, advising appointments are more effective as it allows students to consider transfer courses more strategically and make more informed transfer decisions.
L.A. Pierce College Articulation Officer Cristina Castelo Rodriguez has served as a champion of transfer credit evaluation and articulation between L.A. Pierce and the California Community College System. By creating an initiative to add course tags in CollegeSource TES, transfer students now benefit from Dr. Rodriguez's perseverance as they can more easily transfer from a California Community College to any other institution in the system.
