World Children's Day – celebrated on 20th November and this year coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child – aims to raise awareness and funds for the millions of children that are denied their right to adequate health care, nutrition, education and protection. Around the world, children will 'take over' high-visibility roles in media, politics, business, sport, and entertainment usually held by adults to shine a spotlight on issues that matter to them. Children will also help turn the world blue – at school, on the streets, on social media, in boardrooms and on sports fields in support of child rights.
Color Factory believes in the power of childlike joy. Each exhibit encourages visitors to connect with one another and return to that state of natural wonder. Unfortunately, not every child has the opportunity to forge these connections or experience play. Through their partnership with local and national organisations, Color Factory hopes to be a force for good to ensure equitable treatment and opportunity.
Encompassing over 20,000 total square feet, each room in Color Factory is an experiential, interactive installation that invites people to engage their natural curiosity and gives them permission to be joyful, playful, and uninhibited. Every hue is hand-selected based on the everyday of New York and paired with a sensory activity to unleash the full impact of color.
At the entry, visitors are invited to register for a card with a special barcode which can be scanned at custom photo booth stations set up throughout the exhibition. Images will automatically be emailed to users.
Tickets to Color Factory New York are $38 for adults, $28 for children. All ticket profits will be donated to UNICEF USA. For any questions about the event, please reach out to [email protected] or [email protected].
