Among the first of its kind in the nation, the 60-credit hour program is designed to provide students with an advanced understanding of the values, mindset, and occupational hazards that military and first responder personnel face on a daily basis. The program includes coursework that is aligned with the CACREP standards to help prepare students to sit for the National Counselor Exam and internships and ensure students gain real-world experience in this area to complement their learning.

First responders, emergency response personnel, law enforcement, and military service members face unique emotional and mental healthcare needs. The trauma and stress these professionals experience across their daily responsibilities require personnel specially trained to address such challenges.
