On Wednesday, Denver, Colorado-based BluSky Restoration Contractors, LLC announced a merger with Bartlett, Tennessee-based Sharp, Robbins & Popwell, LLC, a general contracting firm doing business as SRP Contractors. SRP’s principal partners are Dale Sharp, Dave Robbins, and Chris Popwell.
“We are thrilled to partner with SRP Contractors,” said Kent Stemper, BluSky CEO. “Dale, Dave and Chris have built an organization with a reputation as industry experts and specialists while honoring their core values including quality and integrity. Those values, and the way they live them, attracted us to them.”
Drew Bisping, BluSky’s chief corporate development and strategy officer, added, “the locations of SRP’s operations are ideal and provide a very strategic connection with other BluSky markets. Their expertise in servicing the health care industry is also unique. Through continued leadership from Dale Sharp and Dave Robbins, we will look to expand that nationally. From all fronts, we believe this will be a tremendous partnership and growth driver for BluSky’s business in the region and health care services in all markets.”
“It was clear from our first introduction to Dale, Dave and Chris, that they are incredible individuals with uncompromising integrity,” Bisping continued. “We are excited to welcome them into the BluSky family.”
Stemper remains the firm’s chief executive officer. SRP’s partners will assume leadership positions in the combined business, which continues as BluSky Restoration Contractors. Sharp and Robbins will take senior roles within BluSky and will lead the expansion of health care services for the firm nationally.
“We have very intentionally built a culture of family and team at SRP,” said Dale Sharp, SRP president. “We believe in doing right things in right ways, living by our core values of integrity, communication, professionalism and quality. From our earliest interactions with the BluSky team, we recognized the same traits and intentions in their leadership.”
“We’re very excited about the partnership with BluSky,” added Dave Robbins, SRP vice president. “The merger creates opportunities for accelerated growth and expansion into new markets.”
Popwell will take a regional vice president role with oversight of the current SRP locations in Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee, and Little Rock, Arkansas, as well as future growth locations and services in the region.
“We’ve always taken great pride in the way we care for our SRP family and clients, and it became abundantly clear BluSky has a reputation for adhering to the same principles”, said Popwell, also a SRP vice president.
Stemper concluded, “Both organizations have many similarities, and we believe the cultures are a great fit. A key strategy for both SRP and BluSky is having a great place to work and delivering great service to customers through employees who love what they do.”
Today’s announcement is the third in a strategic plan of mergers and acquisitions to support further growth. The firm previously merged with North Carolina-based Disaster One in 2017 and Missouri-based United Services in 2019. BluSky has grown organically from a privately-owned Colorado startup in 2004 to one of the largest national restoration firms in the country.
