Columbia Sportswear Wins Top Creative Design Award with Alchemy Systems Employee Communications Program
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) December 15, 2016 -- Columbia Sportswear won a top creative design award for an innovative shrink reduction campaign targeting associates that was developed by Alchemy Systems. The Annual Communicator Awards is a leading international awards program recognizing excellence in marketing and communications, organized by the Academy for Interactive & Visual Arts.
Columbia Sportswear’s eye-catching internal communication campaign engages store associates with arresting visuals and important training to deter both internal and consumer theft and shrink. Last year, the National Retail Federation reported that shoplifting was the No. 1 cause of shrinkage (37 percent) for US retailers, and that employee theft contributed to more than one-third of shrink.
“Reducing shrink continues to be a major challenge for retailers and effective internal communications and training programs can be highly effective if they connect and engage with retail associates,” said Scott Martin, VP of creative at Alchemy Systems. “We are delighted that we could contribute to helping Columbia Sportswear win the award.”
Alchemy also announced that Mike Limauro has joined the company as vice president of asset protection, risk and safety programs. “Mike has a great track record at leading retailers in combining creative thinking and new technologies to drive profit expansion and improve safety programs,” said Jeff Eastman, CEO of Alchemy Systems. “Mike has been directing loss prevention programs for more than 20 years at grocery chains, big box retailers, and upscale department stores and will be instrumental in assisting our retail clients to take their asset protection and risk management programs to the next level.”
“Having been a client for many years, I’ve seen first-hand how Alchemy solutions can improve customer service, raise employee engagement scores, and drive profitability,” said Limauro.
Prior to Alchemy, Limauro was vice president of asset protection at Weis Markets, where he was responsible for loss prevention, safety, risk management, insurance, food safety and quality control. He has also held senior loss prevention leadership positions at Kmart and SuperValu. He is on the board of directors for the Loss Prevention Foundation and the editorial board for Innovative Retail Technologies magazine.
