Columbus Auctioneer Wins NAA International Auctioneer Championship
Laura Mantle, Auctioneer, of Columbus, OH took home the top prize in the 2021 National Auctioneers Association (NAA) International Auctioneer Championship, competing in a field of some of the best auctioneers in the world.
COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 28, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Minneapolis (July 16, 2021) Laura Mantle, Auctioneer, of Columbus, OH took home the top prize in the 2021 National Auctioneers Association (NAA) International Auctioneer Championship, competing in a field of some of the best auctioneers in the world.
Joining nearly 60 fellow auction professionals from across the world, Mantle competed on Friday,
July 16, 2021, in Minneapolis, at the 72nd International Auctioneers Conference & Show. One man and one woman earned the right to be called NAA IAC Champion.
IAC competitors are judged on their presentation, chant, voice timbre, body language and other performance elements of effective auctioneering. The top 15 men and five women are also judged on their answers to interview questions. The revered competition is held in a single day, in front of live attendees, with tens of thousands of viewers on IAC Live! via Facebook and YouTube.
IAC Champions are awarded a $5,000 cash prize, a trophy, champion medallion, ring, and go on to represent the NAA as brand ambassadors and speakers across the country for the next 12 months.

At the young age of 13, Laura began working auctions as a "runner" and over the years worked in various roles at her family's company. Immediately after graduating from Westerville South High School, she graduated from The Ohio Auction School in June, 2006. After receiving her degree in Business Administration from Otterbein University in 2010, she became a full-time auctioneer.
Mantle is now an Instructor at The Ohio Auction School as well as owning her own Contract Auction Company, Mantle Auctioneering. She travels all over the country, working over 200 auctions per year as a Contract Auctioneer, Auction Manager and Support Staff. She has received the coveted CAI (Certified Auctioneer Institute) Designation from the NAA in addition to her CAS (Contract Auction Specialist) Designation.
