WASHINGTON, Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Commercial Express HVAC, CBW Mechanical and Tolin MidAtlantic today announced their combination under a new name: Centryx Mechanical Solutions. The merger officially took effect September 28, 2026, bringing together three established mechanical service organizations to provide customers with broader capabilities, greater technical resources and a single source for HVAC, plumbing and facility management services.
The formation of Centryx Mechanical Solutions brings together decades of experience and complementary areas of expertise. Rather than simply combining three businesses, Centryx is designed to multiply their collective strengths — giving customers access to more technicians, deeper technical knowledge, expanded services and faster problem-solving while creating greater stability and growth opportunities for employees.
The name Centryx reflects the company's vision of becoming the central resource customers can rely on for their mechanical and facility needs. By bringing specialized expertise together within one organization, Centryx provides customers with one company to call and one team accountable for getting the job done.
"In my 31 years in this trade, nothing has excited me more than the coming together of these three great companies," said Dean K. Mosher, President of Centryx Mechanical Solutions. "The question isn't, 'What will these three companies continue doing?' The more exciting question is, 'What will we do together that none of us could have done alone?' The future has a name. That name is Centryx Mechanical Solutions."
Three Companies. Complementary Strengths. One Team.
Commercial Express HVAC, founded in 2002, has built its reputation around commercial HVAC service, replacement and design-build capabilities. The company replaces approximately 500 rooftop units annually and provides full in-house engineering for design-build projects. Its service department supports a broad range of commercial mechanical equipment, providing customers with responsive service and technical expertise.
CBW Mechanical traces its history to Capital Boiler Works, founded in 1936. The company brings extensive experience in large commercial and industrial boiler service, maintenance and replacement, as well as complex piping projects, chiller work and plumbing services.
Tolin MidAtlantic adds further mechanical service expertise, field resources and regional capabilities to the combined organization. Their knowledge in operating efficient buildings, maintaining HVAC systems, helping their customers reduce downtime only strengthens the Centryx organization.
Together as Centryx Mechanical Solutions, the organization will provide comprehensive commercial HVAC service, maintenance, repair, replacement and installation; design-build services and in-house engineering; boiler and chiller service; large-scale piping; plumbing; facility management; and onsite building engineering services.
Centryx serves customers throughouts Washington, D.C., Virginia, Maryland and West Virginia, including commercial and office buildings, high-rise apartments and condominiums, manufacturing operations, healthcare facilities and retail properties. The organization maintains licensing across Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., West Virginia and WSSC jurisdictions.
One Call. More Capabilities.
For existing customers, the most significant result of the merger will be access to a broader range of expertise and services through a single organization.
Historically, each of the three companies developed particular areas of specialization, which could require customers with complex facility needs to engage multiple providers. Centryx brings those capabilities together, allowing customers to turn to one company for HVAC, plumbing and facility management needs.
Customers can expect greater depth of technical knowledge, more field resources, expanded problem-solving capabilities and faster response — backed by a larger organization with the experience and resources to handle projects ranging from routine service calls to complex mechanical systems and major capital replacements.
At the center of the new organization is a commitment to delivering what Centryx calls the Ultimate Customer Experience. That commitment is built around safety, reputation, precision and accuracy, and a sense of urgency. The company's operating philosophy is captured in a simple standard:
Every Action. Every Detail. Every Day.
"We get the job done, we get it done correctly, and we communicate with our customers every step of the way," Mosher said. "That commitment isn't changing with Centryx. What is changing is the depth of knowledge, experience, manpower and services we can put behind it."
Continuity Today, Greater Resources Tomorrow
Existing customers should see minimal immediate disruption as the companies transition to the Centryx Mechanical Solutions brand. Existing phone numbers and customer contacts will largely remain in place during the initial transition.
Beginning in early 2027, the organization plans to further consolidate operations, including centralized billing under the Centryx Mechanical Solutions name. Customers will receive information regarding those changes as the transition progresses.
Most importantly, the company's commitment to its customers and its service standards will remain unchanged.
"I want our longtime customers to know how much we appreciate the trust and commitment they have shown all three companies," Mosher said. "It is our customers' commitment to us that gave us the ability and resources to bring these companies together. It's that same commitment that drives us to deliver the Ultimate Customer Experience every day."
Building the Premier Mechanical Workplace
Centryx Mechanical Solutions is also being built with a long-term focus on its employees and their families.
The company's goal is to create a premier workplace in the mechanical contracting industry — one that provides stability, career opportunities, professional development and clear paths for growth. The scale and market presence of the combined organization are expected to create opportunities that would have been more difficult for each company to provide independently.
Centryx plans significant investment in employee training and technical development while also expanding its plumbing capabilities.
The combination is being made from a position of strength. Commercial Express HVAC, CBW Mechanical and Tolin MidAtlantic each bring established operations, experienced teams and specialized expertise to Centryx. Together, the companies intend to build on those foundations and create one of the region's most comprehensive mechanical contracting and facility service organizations.
"Our goal isn't simply to be recognized by our customers," Mosher said. "We want to be recommended by them. We're bringing together three strong companies because we believe we can accomplish more together than any of us could accomplish independently. For our customers, that means more expertise and more capabilities. For our employees, it means more opportunities. And for Centryx, it means we're just getting started."
