Community Cosmetics Releases Results Of First Online Eye Cream Study
Community Cosmetics, an online skin care forum, recruited people from the internet to participate in a blind eye cream study where participants applied different products to either side of their face and uploaded a daily picture to gauge the product's effectiveness.
AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 4, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Community Cosmetics today announced the results of their crowd-sourced blind skin care study, where participants applied two different commercially available eye creams to different sides of their face, uploaded daily pictures for 30 days, and then the community analyzed the effectiveness of the products.
"We're bypassing individual opinions and questionable online reviews by working directly with people who are passionate about their skin to see how well these products really work for the average person, and we're doing it over the internet in our online community", says John Waltrip, Community Cosmetics Face-Off program director. "Imagine being able to see visible changes in skin appearance from a variety of unpaid volunteers instead of relying on beauty bloggers or influencers. Everyone is skeptical of reviews these days, and they should be. Well, we're taking a different approach in helping people evaluate the skin care products they're interested in buying."
