(PRWEB) January 26, 2018 -- Congoleum Corporation (http://www.congoleum.com) today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Christopher O’Connor as President and CEO effective January 1, 2018. O’Connor joined Congoleum as Chief Financial Officer in January 2015 and was additionally named Chief Operating Officer in December 2017.
O’Connor said of his new position, “I feel very fortunate for having the opportunity to lead such a strong and dynamic group of professionals as we set the course for even greater success. The leadership team at Congoleum is outstanding. Over the past three years, I have had the chance to work closely with the head of each department. Together, we have added some very key talent across the organization. That has allowed us to really ramp up our innovation and market-facing efforts. Our R&D team is driving product innovation and performance that is unlike anything the industry has seen in several decades. We are confident that these breakthrough innovations are going to have the same kind of market-shaping impact that were experienced when Congoleum created chemical embossing for sheet goods and DuraCeramic, the world’s first groutable LVT. The first view of this latest innovation will be at the 2018 Surfaces show in Las Vegas. We will unveil our CLEO Home collection that will offer unmatched flexibility in styling and design thanks to high fidelity digital print that is applied directly to an eco-forward, waterproof mineral composite core. There is simply nothing like it in the marketplace today.” Prior to joining Congoleum in 2015, Mr. O’Connor served as Chief Financial Officer for CMH Flooring in Wadesboro, NC and holds an MBA from Duke University.
Mr. O’Connor was equally enthusiastic to announce that Jonathan Fisher has been named as Chief Financial Officer effective January 1, 2018. O’Connor said of the newly appointed Fisher, “I am confident that Jon will do an excellent job as our CFO. I chose Jon to succeed me in the position based on his experience, education, and work ethic. When I first met Jon I was confident that he would be an excellent addition to the leadership team and he has done an outstanding job of growing into the CFO role.” Prior to joining Congoleum in 2016, Mr. Fisher, who is a CPA and a graduate of Rutgers University, spent ten years in public accounting including seven years with Ernst & Young and has also served as Controller for several companies.
Since 1886 Congoleum has been committed to developing innovative flooring products that push the industry forward. Congoleum is proud of its strong and iconic past, energized by the future and as always, unwavering in its commitment to design quality, and innovation.
