CHICAGO, Sept. 7, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In the last 45 years, the Project Management Institute Chicagoland Chapter (https://pmichicagoland.org/) has been successfully influencing and contributing to the achievements of Project Management professionals in a diverse range of industries within the Chicago metropolitan area. With over 4,000 members, it is one of the oldest and largest chapters amongst the 300+ PMI Chapters world-wide. 2022 is full of sapphire anniversary celebrations to commemorate this milestone and to show appreciation to the many dedicated Chapter volunteers constantly striving to deliver value.
In 1977, a handful of people got together and organized the chapter to share best practices in project management. Since then, new ideas and pioneering services were born, many "firsts" for its members and stakeholder communities.
- Delivered a world-class Mentorship Program shared at many PMI Leadership Institute meetings.
- Established the PMI Chicagoland Executive Council to reach the executives, and senior leaders who are the influencers and decision makers that drive the value of project, program, and portfolio management.
- Grew the Community Outreach programs by sustaining long-standing partnerships with academic institutions, nonprofit organizations, professional associations, social and youth groups.
- Presented the Ambassador Program to expand reach and impact to businesses and corporations, creating direct linkages and two-way channels in promoting the project management profession
- Started the "Project of the Year" Award in 2020 to recognize individuals/teams/organizations whose project management effort demonstrated significant impact to the community. The winner American Hospital Association (AHA) focused specifically on COVID-19 response.
- Expanded the Product Portfolio with the launch of the first Agile Conference this year to niche member segment seeking Agile frameworks and disciplines, to upskill and reskill professionals and changemakers for advancement.
"Over 45 years of change, one constant remains. We've stayed true to our roots, always focused on helping people achieve their greatest potential" said Ura Puranda, President, PMI Chicagoland Chapter. "We are all proud to be part of such a brand name with a rich legacy. We will also be celebrating in various ways in 2022. Our special Anniversary celebration during the September Member Meeting is just the kick-off."
The Chapter invites its members and the community to recognize all that we have accomplished together over the last 45 years, and to look forward to the opportunities that lay ahead with several exciting events, such as the upcoming annual PM Symposium, a full day focused on learning and development opportunities for professional growth, market advantage and continuing education for PDUs to maintain Certifications.
