In addition, today is National Manufacturing Day, which is organized by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) to address labor opportunities, connect with future generations of manufacturers and ensure the success of the manufacturing industry.
In 2010, Congressman Hoyer helped create the Make it in America plan and recently unveiled an updated plan based on input from a listening tour across the country. "I enjoyed visiting the Thompson Creek Window Company today and touring their manufacturing facility to learn more about the work they are doing, which creates good jobs and helps grow our economy," said Congressman Hoyer. "When I unveiled House Democrats' updated Make It in America agenda in July, I spoke about the need for Congress to work together with local businesses and workers to help them get ahead.
