Connecting Things: thingtech Launches Atlanta-based Tech Startup
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 23, 2014 -- thingtech, a real time fleet and asset management Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) technology provider, is excited to announce that it officially launched on June 2, 2014. Founded by Tim Quinn and Brian Corcoran, thingtech is headquartered in the energetic and innovative Atlanta start-up incubator, Atlanta Tech Village. The founders bring extensive expertise, relationships and industry experience with them. Both are former executives of an Atlanta-based route, scheduling, and mobile data software firm.
The thingtech platform leverages the fast growing trends of connected devices and connected customers by bundling real time connectivity, “Big Data” predictive analysis, and software applications in an easy to get started Software as a Service (SaaS) model. In addition, the solutions are built on force.com in partnership with Salesforce.com – the global leader in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) - providing thingtech with the advantages of deploying a “mobile ready” application and natively integrating the thingtech application into the customer-centric business processes of its customers.
“Our goal is to help move our customers from a ‘find and fix’ fleet and asset management paradigm to a ‘predict and prevent’ model through real time data collection and events based processing,” says Tim Quinn, CEO of thingtech. Quinn added “We believe that behind every vehicle, asset, device, or piece of equipment is a customer waiting to be served. Our platform is uniquely positioned to help our customers reduce cost and better serve their most important assets – their customers.”
There is a tremendous opportunity to improve service delivery, asset utilization, and performance monitoring in real time via GPS and other location based technologies for public and private sector operations. Currently, many transportation companies or organizations with heavy equipment and expensive mobile assets have very little visibility into the status and condition of their fleets, assets, or work force. thingtech’s services will reduce costs, improve internal operations and processes as well as customer interactions.
Brian Corcoran, President and Co-Founder of thingtech is optimistic about the future. “We have created a tremendous foundation from a corporate partnership, technology, and business model perspective that will allow us to deliver great value to our clients.” He added “Initial market reaction to the product and our approach has been very positive. Both early client acquisition and reaction to product showcase events have exceeded our initial expectations.”
