Construction Business Owner Magazine developed the Sustainability VIP honor as a format to help identify and highlight the industry’s foremost leaders of sustainable practices and programs.

Construction Business Owner (CBO), the leading business magazine for contractors, is pleased to introduce the Sustainability VIP honor, a special initiative designed to recognize the construction professionals building a better future for the earth and its inhabitants.

“As the demand for more sustainable building continues to increase, and the practice of green building becomes increasingly more profitable, construction today is positioned to lead the world by example,” said Kathy Wells, editor of Construction Business Owner Magazine & Digital Media.

CBO developed the Sustainability VIP honor as a format to help identify and highlight the industry’s foremost leaders of sustainable practices and programs. “This industry already understands the importance of and need for sustainable practices, and it’s time to talk more about it,” said Wells. CBO’s Sustainability VIP honor is powered by nominations from professionals throughout the industry that will showcase the expertise of eligible nominees, which include male and female contractors from both commercial and residential contracting and subcontracting.

Nominees must have developed, launched or led programs or initiatives within their respective companies to support any of the following areas of sustainability:

  •     Industry and infrastructure
  •     Clean energy, water and sanitation
  •     Recycling and responsible consumption and production
  •     Protection of climate, wildlife and waterways
  •     Sustainable cities and communities
  •     Green building and LEED efforts
  •     Humanitarian efforts (poverty, hunger, equality, health, wellness, education, employment)

Anyone is able to make a nomination. To submit a nomination, visit constructionbusinessowner.com/svip and complete your Sustainability VIP nomination form(s). CBO will accept submissions from May 28, 2021 to June 25, 2021.

After all nominations have been considered, the program will conclude with 10 finalists to be featured in CBO’s August 2021 print magazine and on constructionbusinessowner.com.

Nominations close June 25, 2021.
