BOYNTON BEACH, Fla., July 17, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Contemporary Ceramic Studios Association (CCSA), a not-for-profit trade association serving the needs of ceramic and paint your own pottery (PYOP) studios and suppliers worldwide, has announced that its annual convention will take place at the St. Charles Convention Center in St. Charles, MO from September 14-17, 2018.
The annual CCSA convention brings together paint your own pottery studio owners and suppliers from around the world to share best practices, discuss trends, build relationships, learn about business management and techniques, and celebrate the rapidly-growing and dynamic PYOP community.
The CCSA will also host a convention gala on the evening of September 16 featuring a live band, dancing, and dinner, as well as a raffle and silent auction to raise money for Believe Big: a charitable organization that seeks to bridge the gap between conventional and complementary medicine for fighting cancer, and provide patients with hope, help and healing.
Convention attendees will also have the opportunity to paint mugs for cancer patients, with representatives from Believe Big handing out awards for: Best Overall Mug, Best Mug for a Pediatric Patient, Best Mug for a Male Patient, Best Mug for a Female Patient, and Most Creative Depiction of the Word "BELIEVE!". This is the second consecutive year that Believe Big has been selected as the gala's benefactor. Last year, attendees in Scottsdale, AZ raised over $28,000 for the charity that was founded in 2011 by Ivelisse and Jimmy Page after Ivelisse's battle with Stage IV colon cancer.
"Our annual convention is the premier event for contemporary ceramic studios," commented CCSA executive director Dena Pearlman. "It promises to be four exciting days of networking, education, and an auction gala where members of the PYOP community from around the world gather to celebrate our industry and raise money for a worthy charity. Every year I think that our convention can't get any better, but it always does!"
