ATLANTA, Feb. 6, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Cook & James, the Atlanta-based real estate law firm which pioneered at-home closings, has added two attorneys, Bryce Linden and Jana Paterson, to its staff, continuing an aggressive growth trajectory begun in 2017. Linden and Paterson join the firm's legal staff, allowing Cook & James to offer increased closing transaction business throughout Atlanta and the ability to further penetrate throughout Georgia.

A native of Columbus, Ga., Linden graduated Columbus State University and holds a law degree with a real estate emphasis from Mercer University. He went on to earn an LL.M in environmental law from George Washington University in 2017 and clerked for the EPA, specializing in hazardous waste, chemical clean-up and other environmental hazards as they pertain to real estate transactions. Linden brings his eco-expertise to Cook & James and will work on residential resale transactions as well as with home builders. He lives in Grant Park with his partner, an Australian labradoodle, and a cat. A member of the Atlanta REALTORS® Association, he serves on that group's young professional network committee. Additionally, he's a member of the real estate section of the Georgia Bar Association and is active with the Greater Atlanta Home Builder's Association. In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors, hiking and visiting state parks.
Paterson has partnered with Cook & James since 2012 as a contractor and today's announcement formalizes her ongoing commitment to the firm. Paterson will continue to spearhead refinance closing transactions and add new and resales to her workload. Born and raised in southern California, Paterson holds an undergraduate degree in broadcast journalism from San Francisco State University. She is a 2008 graduate of Georgia State's law school and has been a member of the Georgia Bar Association since that year. She is also a member of the social, member engagement and community service committee for the Atlanta REALTORS® Association and the planning and events committee for the Cobb Women's Council of Realtors. When she's not lawyering, she gives back to her East Lake neighborhood and is a founding board member of The Kirk Cats, a non-profit organization dedicated to spaying and neutering feral cats in the East Atlanta area. Paterson is passionate about animals and the environment and regularly fosters cats and dogs, especially German Shepherds, collects rainwater for her front yard vegetable garden, is a backyard birder, and provides a pollinator garden for monarch butterflies. In her spare time, she is in a book club and enjoys cooking and home renovation projects.
