Cool Media Points to Patriots for Fourth Straight Super Bowl while Clemson and Alabama Rule College Football Odds
SAN ANTONIO (PRWEB) July 13, 2019 -- Cool Media today announced that the New England Patriots have been tabbed as favorites to win the Super Bowl for the fourth consecutive season, according to sportsbooks the PR firm represents.
Additionally, Cool Media (coolmediapr.com) intimated that the quest for the College Football Playoff trophy is a two-horse race, as the championship odds reflect immense disparity between Clemson and Alabama, and the rest of the FBS programs.
"It feels like parity has come to a halt in college football, and bettors are reacting to early odds with that notion in mind," said company spokesperson, Scott Cooley. "Clemson and Alabama are generating an overwhelming amount of betting action. LSU and Texas are the trendy, "underdog" picks, but everyone is putting their money behind the two perennial powerhouses."
Both Alabama and Clemson carry 2-1 odds to win the CFP National Championship. The next closest team, Georgia, has 7-1 odds while Ohio State has 8-1 odds. After Oklahoma (12-1 odds) and Michigan (14-1 odds), no team has better than 20-1 odds to win the title.
Clemson has taken the most bets to win the CFP while Alabama is second and Texas is third, according to bookmakers Cool Media PR represents.
Super Bowl LIV odds are much tighter than the collegiate ranks.
Currently, the Patriots have 6-1 odds to hoist the Lombardi Trophy for the second straight year and the fourth time in the last six seasons.
The Chiefs are listed with 6-1 odds, the Rams and Saints at 10-1 and the Bears, Browns and Colts at 14-1. The Packers and Chargers are priced at 16-1 while the Cowboys, Eagles, Falcons, Steelers, Texans, and Vikings have 25-1 odds.
New England was the preseason favorite in 2018 (5-1 odds) and 2017 (5-1 odds), and co-favorites in 2016 (9-1 odds).
However, the Patriots have not received the most bets to win the Super Bowl. That distinction goes to the NFL's trendiest team heading into 2019.
The Browns, with former Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield and newly-acquired Odell Beckham Jr., have been the most bet on team so far this offseason. Cleveland's Super Bowl odds have dropped from 25/1 to 14/1 since odds were initially set last February, according to Cool Media.
"Every year the media creates the next Patriots-to-be, and every year that overhyped team falls well short of expectations," Cooley said.
New England has received the third-highest amount of bets to win Super Bowl LIV while Kansas City has the second-most bets.
