Copilot Networks Enhances App with Weekly Tech Activity Report
New Haven, Conn. (PRWEB) April 09, 2015 -- Copilot Networks today announced that their free parental control app, Copilot Family, will also include a weekly “Insight Email,” detailing a child’s technology use. The feature provides parents a consistent window into how their children are using mobile devices, indicating to the parent what new apps the child has downloaded on a weekly basis.
“A major frustration facing parents today is trying to understand how their children are utilizing mobile devices,” said Paul Blackstone, CEO and founder of Copilot Family. “Parents are completely overwhelmed by the onslaught of new apps that spread in popularity like wildfire before they even know what the app is. How does a parent keep up? What a parent often lacks is adequate insight into how their child is using a device. Copilot Family solves that problem.”
According to a recent study of teenagers, 70 percent said they hide their online behavior from their parents. A common issue facing parents involves children downloading apps despite not meeting the app’s age restriction.
“We want parents to actively engage their child in the tech conversation, but also have an objective source of insight,” said Blackstone. “Our weekly Insight Email gives parents an easy way to be actively engaged in their child’s mobile life.”
Available on Apple, Android, and soon Windows, Copilot Family is a mobile device management system with extensive features for parents to set age, context, and family-specific boundaries. Unlike other parental apps or services, Copilot Family works across all mobile platforms, allowing an iOS device to manage a device on an Android operating system, and vice versa, for families using diverse technologies.
Copilot Family allows parents to temporarily remove downloaded apps and specify what other features of the smartphone or tablet are available and when. For example, a device taken to school can have temporarily disabled features, such as camera use, along with reduced app availability and Internet access. And at bedtime, the Internet browser and game center can be shut off automatically.
