Corporate Chaplains of America Awards "10:27" Scholarship To Lawrenceville, GA's Marlee Hobgood
Corporate Chaplains of America (CCA) has announced that Marlee Hobgood from Lawrenceville, Georgia has been awarded the organization's "10:27" Scholarship.
WAKE FOREST, N.C., Jan. 05, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Corporate Chaplains of America (CCA) has announced that Marlee Hobgood from Lawrenceville, Georgia has been awarded the organization's "10:27" Scholarship.
Marlee attends Georgia Gwinnett College and she plans to major in Business with a concentration in Marketing. She is the daughter of Kimberly and Chris Hobgood. Her father has served as a chaplain with CCA for 18 years.
CCA's "10:27" Scholarship – a grant of $2,500 – is awarded to a student who has shown dedicated commitment to the command to love God and others laid out in Luke 10:27. It is also intended to be a blessing to a CCA chaplain by helping provide for the cost of their children's higher education.
Jesus says in Luke 10:27, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself."
In her essay, Marlee explains, "Luke 10:27 describes the manner in which we should be loving others and Jesus himself. This verse has been one of my favorite for quite some time. I intend to teach my children, and the influence I have on my generation through marketing and volunteering, that the love of God is selfless, and he died on the cross as a sacrifice for us so that we could love unconditionally."
Larry Griffith, CCA's Chief Executive Officer, recognized Hobgood for her academic achievements, volunteer work, and involvement in the church and community.
The "10:27" Scholarship is open for applications by dependent children of full-time CCA chaplains. Students must be US residents in their final year of high school or actively enrolled on a full-time basis and in good standing in an accredited community college or 4-year institution. Scholarships are one-time awards.
