As the media and entertainment industry returns to production, Corra Group is experiencing a brisk demand for background checks for these companies.

Corra Group is experiencing brisk demand for background checks as film, television, and commercial companies prepare to return to production. As evidenced in a recent Deadline article entitled L.A. County Health Department Eases Restrictions For Film & TV Productions, Live Events, the entertainment and advertising industries are either returning or preparing to return to production. Corra Group, an El Segundo, California based company has been servicing the entertainment and media industry for over fifteen years.

“We are starting to see a flurry of activity as entertainment and commercial and advertising agencies start to ramp up production,” said Corra Group Co-Founder, Gordon Basichis. “Now that the COVID pandemic is abating, states are relaxing protocol so that media and entertainment producers can begin production again. We are actively providing background checks to television companies and advertising agencies, especially, in order to fulfill their in-house needs and talent searches.

“It is refreshing to see,” said Basichis. “I’d venture the viewing audience is desperate for new content, and the renewed production activity gives that audience something to look forward to as they emerge from the pandemic. There are also increased calls for international background searches as companies are shooting overseas or drawing from talent from around the world.”

Basichis pointed out that as Corra Group is headquartered near Hollywood, he can see the immediate and collateral damage the production shutdowns, due to the COVID pandemic, have caused to the media and entertainment industry. He noted the economic damage to the city, including store closures and the reduction of retail services around a city so dependent on the entertainment industry. He referenced the psychological damage that has been voiced by a variety of his associates.

“Once upon a time my wife and I were in the entertainment industry,” said Basichis. “We still have friends in television, film, and advertising. They have suffered financially, for sure. But more so, they are uncertain about their careers and future of the industry. They wonder what enduring changes the pandemic has caused and if the disruption to the industry will result permanent damage or loss. Meanwhile, everyone I know can’t wait to get back to work. Finally, it is happening. On with the show.”
