BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Dec. 2, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Cory Watson Attorneys has filed a lawsuit against Sunbeam Products, Inc. on behalf of a Plaintiff who allegedly sustained injuries from a defective pressure cooker. The firm filed a complaint in Palm Beach County, Florida court against Sunbeam Products, Inc., who designed and sold Crock-Pot™ Multi-Cookers. Sunbeam recalled more than 900,000 crock pots due to dangerous burns and catastrophic explosion-related injuries following the Cory Watson lawsuit.
In the complaint, the Plaintiff represented by Cory Watson alleges that the pressure cooker exploded while still pressurized. The Plaintiff alleged that they suffered severe, painful burns and bodily injuries as well as medical expenses, mental anguish and a significantly diminished quality of life.
The court documents allege that injuries occur when pot lids fail to remain locked during operation. Additionally, the court documents allege that the device failure identified to occur in pressure cookers, also known as "instant pots", "crock pots", "one pots" or "multi-pots", can trigger an explosion that sprays hot contents of the cooker onto the user and potentially other household members.
