Xulon Press presents a fascinating guide for anyone currently involved in or planning to participate in providing Christian education, especially children's ministries.
NEW CASTLE, Del., June 15, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Author Donna Syme PhD provides youth ministry leaders with refreshing instructions to create impactful, bible-based children's messages in Will They Follow?: A Leader's Guide to Reaching Today's Children ($16.49, paperback, 9781662866791; $7.99, e-book, 9781662866807).
Syme penned a well-thought-out book that describes how to create a Sunday morning program that young Christians will look forward to attending. This book thoroughly explains how to make the narratives of the Bible come alive and provides real-life anecdotal stories that are age-appropriate and enjoyable to read. Syme aims to inspire teachers to do more than just teach Bible lessons. Instead, she provides the knowledge to create a program that fulfills Christ's final command to make disciples. This book is ideal encouragement for both new and experienced youth ministry leaders and Sunday school teachers – allowing all readers to reexamine what God has called them to do.
When asked what inspired the author to write this book, Syme said, "The Bible is the most exciting book in the world! Yet how many times have you watched restless children squirm their way through a 30-40-minute Bible lesson with very little chance for movement and probably very little retention? I decided to come up with something better."
Donna Syme holds a bachelor's degree in elementary and special education from the University of Delaware. She also impressively holds a master's degree in education from Widener University and a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Christian Education from Newburgh Seminary. Syme's teaching career spans over four decades and includes teaching elementary and special education both in public and Christian schools. She has led intervention teams, mentored new teachers, and supervised student teachers. Syme's ministry at church has involved teaching elementary students, directing children and teen choirs, playing the piano and organ, serving as a small group leader for children, teens, and adults, leading teaching seminars, and serving as Coordinator of Children's Ministries. She is married to Robert Syme, and they are the proud parents of two adult children (both living outside of the U.S.) and grandparents of one granddaughter. Syme and her husband travel often, especially to Taiwan to visit their son, and to the Netherland's to visit their daughter and her family. They also enjoy travelling via their travel trailer to visit various places around the United States.
