Cross & Smith, LLC Announces the Creation of a New Annual College Scholarship Program
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (PRWEB) October 12, 2018 -- Beginning this year, Cross & Smith will award an educational scholarship annually to a high school student or current college student who intends to pursue a law degree within the United States. The $1,000 award will be given to one student each year to be used towards the cost of the student’s college education.
The firm believes strongly in helping to support students who want to enter the legal profession. “We know that the expense of a college education can be a tremendous hurdle for both students and their families. We are proud to be able to provide a scholarship that will help ease the financial burden in some way,” explains Justin L. Smith, a partner with the firm.
The firm also recognizes the importance of having quality lawyers in the legal profession and believes that the scholarship program will help support bright and promising students who want to attend law school and pursue a career in law.
Cross & Smith’s scholarship program is open to high school seniors and current college students planning to attend law school in the United States. To apply for the program, eligible students must submit an application and an essay explaining why they aspire to pursue a law degree, any obstacles they believe they will encounter along the way, and how they plan to confront their challenges. The application and essay must be submitted to the firm by November 2, 2018.
The firm will select a winning student based upon a combination of academic qualifications, writing skills and extracurricular/volunteer activities. A winner will be selected and contacted via e-mail by December 3, 2018. If no response is received within one week, a new winner will be chosen.
