CORAL SPRINGS, Fla., Oct. 2, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Cruise Planners, an American Express Travel Representative and its non-profit organization CP Cares™ has partnered with Food For The Poor (FFP) to provide humanitarian aid to The Bahamas devasted in the wake of Hurricane Dorian.
Food For The Poor is one of the largest organizations, with a warehouse located in Coconut Creek, Florida, that provides swift and efficient targeted relief for those affected by catastrophes and the impoverished in 17 countries of the Caribbean and Latin America. The charity has a network of trusted partner organizations positioned in place to directly ship and distribute the goods in The Bahamas.
Cruise Planners Home Office Team Members generously donated cases of water, boxes of diapers, first aid kits, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, non-perishable goods, pet food and other high demand necessities.

The total collected goods weighed in at 2,201 pounds, which is more than a ton of donation!
Food For The Poor sent 17 shipments along with Cruise Planners' collection and it has been distributed by their trusted partners to the people of The Bahamas most impacted.
The donation drive provides initial relief to ease the suffering, but thousands are struggling to rebuild their lives after Hurricane Dorian ravaged two of the major islands in the northwest – Grand Bahama and Great Abaco.
Not only are the Bahamians our neighbors, they're also important partners within the travel industry. The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism are encouraging travelers to continue visiting 14 of the country's most-visited islands which are unaffected and open for business. This includes Nassau, capital of the Bahamas, and Paradise Island, Eleuthera and Harbour Island, Andros, Bimini, Berry Islands, the Exumas, Cat Island, San Salvador, Rum Cay, Long Island, Acklins/Crooked Island, Mayaguana and Inagua. The Bahamas consist of a chain of approximately 700 islands and cays spread out more than 500 miles in the Atlantic Ocean.
CP Cares has pledged to donate $10,000 to help the long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts and is requesting monetary donations from their nationwide network of Cruise Planners travel advisors, family and friends to match the $10,000 pledge by the end of October so we can collectively help change the desperate families left with nothing.
The company will also be supporting the relief efforts at Cruise Planners' annual Convention this upcoming November in South Florida.
