“Cryptshare QUICK Technology™ solves the age-old problem of exchanging passwords used to protect encrypted files. It eliminates the need to exchange one-time, single-use passwords between sender and receiver each time a transfer is made, or to rely on static key pairs.”

Cryptshare, the German developer of data security and privacy solutions for the exchange of business-critical information, today announced the general release schedule of Cryptshare QUICK Technology™. QUICK is a tangible IT-security solution that provides a permanent, secure connection for encrypted data transmission that everyone can use from anywhere at any time. The innovative, patent-pending technology will be available in Europe immediately, with U.S. distribution scheduled for early April. Cryptshare will demo the technology at the RSA Conference, March 4-8 in San Francisco, where the company is a co-exhibitor with TeleTrusT in the German Pavilion, booth 5671-23.

“Password misuse and mismanagement is a primary cause of many data breaches,” said Mark Forrest, CEO of Cryptshare. “Cryptshare QUICK Technology™ solves the age-old problem of exchanging passwords used to protect encrypted files. It eliminates the need to exchange one-time, single-use passwords between sender and receiver each time a transfer is made, or to rely on static key pairs, which can be eternally vulnerable.”

QUICK uses an individual key for transmitter and receiver, which is combined with a common, dynamic key. After the first use by a sender and recipient, all future use is protected by a permanent secure communication between them, suitable for securely sharing files of any size or kind.

Furthermore, QUICK saves time and money by removing the need for shared infrastructure, federated key agreements or key stores. And, by eliminating the need for users to create and constantly retain passwords, a more secure environment — one that normal people can use — is achieved.

Aside from making emails and files safer, QUICK can be used with a simple-to-implement JAVA and .NET API, facilitating secure communications between applications such as ERP and HR. QUICK can also be used by OEMs to enable secure machine-to-machine communications between IoT devices in security-conscious environments from healthcare to finance and manufacturing.

How QUICK Works
During the first transfer between two participants, an individual key is exchanged automatically, which is used to generate a unique, one-time, use-forever password to establish a permanent secure connection for all future data or file transfers between the sender and receiver. The recipient side can automatically derive and apply this password without having to exchange it with the sender, and each transaction is protected by a unique key. Unlike widely used Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions, the sender does not need to set up or impose any infrastructure to manage or maintain encryption keys. As a result, costs are dramatically reduced, implementation is quick and easy, the user experience is seamless, and the enterprise is more secure.

“The reason you need QUICK is that once you have established a secure connection with another person, application or machine, you do not need to remember or use passwords in the future, making the safekeeping of data in transit as simple as it can possibly get,” concluded Forrest.
