TORRANCE, Calif., April 24, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On April 19, 2019, world-class track and field athlete Crystal Manning placed first in the triple jump at the 2019 Mt. SAC Relays Track and Field Meet in Torrance, California. In the wake of this historical finish, she stands as the top female triple jumper in the United States and the 10th best female triple jumper in the world.
A natural athlete and born competitor, Manning attended the University of Kansas (KU) on a full athletic scholarship. Her collegiate track and field accomplishments earned her four All American designations and three Big 12 Championships as well as a place in the KU Athletics Hall of Fame.
Manning has competed successfully in the high jump; the long jump; the 60 and 100-meter hurdles, the javelin, the shot put, the heptathlon, the 60, 100 and 200-meter dashes; and multiple relay races. Ultimately concentrating on the triple jump above all else, she has her sights set on Olympic gold at the 2020 Olympics.
Over the years, Manning has overcome countless obstacles including a devastating 2016 groin injury. She is also a survivor of sexual violence who founded the Stomp Out Sexual Assault Fashion Show to generate community awareness and support other survivors. Her other skills include writing, acting, modeling, and motivational speaking.
Manning is currently preparing for the 2020 Olympics Games in Tokyo, Japan. By adhering to her strategic training regimen, she hopes to beat the existing women's triple jump world record of 50 feet, 10 inches.
