JACKSONVILLE, Fla., May 23, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- CSI Gives Back, the charitable giving division of The CSI Companies, will host its inaugural CSI Gives Back Gala: A Garden Under The Stars on June 29, 2019 in Jacksonville Beach, Fla. The event will benefit elementary and high school students of the First Coast through two local organizations. CSI Gives Back has selected The Duval County Public Schools Clothing Closet and High School 9:12 as the beneficiaries of its inaugural event.
The Duval County Public Schools Clothing Closet provides new uniforms free of charge to students in need. Social workers hand-deliver uniforms directly to homes, protecting the privacy and dignity of students and families. In 2017, The Clothing Closet provided 3,000 uniforms to students across 150 schools in Duval County. Through a partnership with locally-owned Poindexter's Uniform Company, CSI Gives Back has secured best value pricing for its goal of providing 1,000 pieces of clothing to children through proceeds from the gala.
Founded by Airstream Ventures in 2018, High School 9:12 helps student athletes find opportunities for success after graduation. Students are enrolled in a rigorous 8-week boot camp through University Select where they learn strategies for achieving higher ACT and SAT test scores. Admissions counselors coach student athletes on the college admissions process and available scholarship opportunities, at no cost. The CSI Companies has established a goal of enrolling 50 students in academic boot camps through High School 9:12, valued at approximately $200 per student.
"An astonishing number of students in our own community need a hand up," said Chris Flakus, Chief Operating Officer of The CSI Companies. "Thanks to organizations like The Clothing Closet and High School 9:12, we're encouraging students to build a brighter future in education, athletics, and eventually in the workforce."
The inaugural event will take place at Casa Marina Hotel in Jacksonville Beach and will feature dinner, drinks, a silent auction, and live entertainment. Proceeds from the event will go directly towards The Duval County Clothing Closet and High School 9:12. Gala tickets are now available at bidpal.net/csigivesbackgala.
The CSI Gives Back Gala is made possible by support from the following partners: Andy Crawford, Bouchard Insurance, Cigna, Forum Capital Group, Mugwump Productions, OE&S, Sight & Sound Productions, Sun Life Financial, and West Point Business Group.
