JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan. 17, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- CSI Gives Back is pleased to announce a new annual college scholarship in memory of well-known local philanthropist Guy Cuddihee.
Prior to becoming CEO of Beaches Habitat for Humanity, Cuddihee spent more than 20 years in leadership roles across a number of staffing firms including The CSI Companies. He joined CSI as Director of Business Development in 2013.
Over the years, Cuddihee established a large philanthropic footprint across the First Coast as a leader and board member of organizations such as JAXUSA, North Florida School of Special Education, San Marco Rotary, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Beaches Habitat for Humanity.
"Guy inspired so many of CSI Gives Back's current philanthropic initiatives," said Chris Flakus, Chief Operating Officer of The CSI Companies. "Through this scholarship, we're continuing Guy's legacy and inspiring students to keep making a difference for those around them."
In 2019, CSI Gives Back awarded $20,000 to two local organizations benefitting students of the First Coast. Duval County Public Schools Clothing Closet provides new uniforms to students in need through social workers who hand-deliver uniforms to homes, protecting the privacy and dignity of students and their families. High School 9:12 enrolls students in college entrance exam preparation courses to improve test-taking skills, bringing them closer to graduation and scholarship opportunities.
The Guy Cuddihee Memorial Scholarship will identify and recognize students who go above and beyond in the community. To be eligible, students must be a graduating senior enrolled in the Duval County Public Schools. Complete application requirements and instructions will be available on https://csigivesback.org/ in the summer of 2020. Winner will be determined by the Guy Cuddihee Memorial Scholarship Committee and announced in April 2021.
