CSSIA Offers Online Faculty Development with Option for Graduate Credit
Palos Hills, IL (PRWEB) May 28, 2014 -- The National Center for Systems Security and Information Assurance (CSSIA) has once again broadened the horizons of cybersecurity education by collaborating with the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) to offer graduate credits to faculty taking CSSIA courses. These four or five-day virtual classes save faculty time & money by being 100% instructor-led, online courses with hands-on labs.
"By UIS offering graduate credits for faculty taking CSSIA's courses, it's a win/win... the instructor receives the training to better his/her classroom while advancing his or her own education by earning graduate credit," states Dr. Ted Mims, Department Chair for Computer Science at University of Illinois Springfield. Since 2003, CSSIA, an Advanced Technology Education National Center supported by the National Science Foundation, has trained over 3,000 instructors in cybersecurity-related areas. CSSIA has distributed curriculum to over 125 community colleges for rapid deployment, and the CSSIA virtualization data center has been highly regarded by business partners and academia nationwide. Companies such as EMC, Cisco and VMware utilize the virtual data center to deliver the content of their academic programs.
The spring/summer online courses include: Computer Forensics, Ethical Hacking, CISSP, EMC Cloud Infrastructure and Services (CIS), VMware vSphere 5.5, VMware Horizon View, NDG Netlab+ Setup & Operations, Security+, EMC Information Storage Management, LPI Academy Linux Essentials, Linux 1 and Linux 2.
