The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science is designed to provide students a working knowledge of industry elements, such as computer technology and mathematics. Upon developing coding, modeling and design, and algorithmic skills, students are prepared for such careers as computer programmers, software developers, and system analysts.
The Undergraduate Certificate in Web Application Development, which will also be offered as a degree specialization, teaches students to create engaging website applications using various program languages, as well as how to analyze and test applications to ensure they meet quality standards. The skill set students develop within this certification serves as an asset to anyone working in technology or who's looking to integrate interactive technology into their organization.
The continued increase of technology-driven careers in all industries has created a high demand for skilled individuals in Computer Science and Web Application Development. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (bls.org), tech job titles such as Software Developers and Web Application Developers are predicted to grow by 24% and 15%, respectively, by 2026 -- much faster than the average rate for all occupations.
