After 25 years of leadership in advanced reproductive services, CT Fertility has relocated to a brand-new fertility center at 100 Technology Drive in Trumbull, CT, and will continue to see patients at 110 E. 55th St. in Manhattan.
CT Fertility’s presence continues to extend far beyond the Eastern United States region with a new office in Barcelona, Spain at Ronda de la Universitat, 9 - 6 08007. Both expansions support CT Fertility’s mission to provide all patients every option for building their family.

To accommodate the growing patient demand, CT Fertility welcomes two leaders in the field of Reproductive Medicine: Dr. Melvin Thornton II and Dr. Joao de Pinho.
Dr. Melvin Thornton II has been appointed Director of the Donor Egg Program. Dr. Thornton brings deep expertise in the areas of IVF and donor egg, fertility preservation and male infertility. Prior to joining CT Fertility, he spent 15 years with the Columbia University IVF program where he held many leadership posts, including Medical Director of its Westchester campus and Director of the donor egg program.
“CT Fertility has reinvigorated a long-standing commitment to the highest level of compassion and care for patients who require assistance from donors in order to start their families,” Dr. Thornton said. “I look forward to building the preeminent center for all infertility patients on the Eastern Seaboard.”
After receiving his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine, Dr. Thornton completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and then his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Southern California Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. He also completed a fellowship in Gynecologic Pelvic Surgery at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Thornton is well published in the field of Reproductive Medicine with more than 30 papers and several chapters for published books. Dr. Thornton is accepting new patients and available in person as well as through virtual consultations.
Also joining CT Fertility is Dr. Joao de Pinho, specializing in general infertility, male infertility, donor services and international surrogacy. Dr. de Pinho completed his medical training at Baylor College of Medicine and followed with his advanced fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Columbia University. He has authored numerous articles on Obstetrics, Oncologic Gynecology, Urogynecology and Reproductive Medicine. He has conducted extensive research in the areas of infertility, ethics of egg-donor programs, HIV and reproduction, and the development of new egg-freezing techniques. A native of Portugal, Dr. de Pinho is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, French and English, as well as speaking some German and some Italian and will be conducting virtual consultations with patients around the world.
