Southlake, Texas (PRWEB) July 28, 2014 -- Cuidado Casero, an organization of Medicare certified agencies providing home care and hospice, PCO, PCA, and PHC in Texas, New Mexico, New Jersey, Virginia, and Puerto Rico, was proud to be a sponsor of the North Texas Chapter of PAM’s 2014 Gala.
North Texas PAMS is a Division of the Peruvian American Medical Society. The North Texas chapter was created by a handful of Peruvian physicians to reach physicians and other professionals interested in improving medical care for the indigent in Peru. The chapter is developing many new projects and hopes to grow in the near future.
The 2014 North Texas Chapter PAMS Gala was held on May 31, 2014 at the Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas. The event raised funds for the North Texas Division of PAMS EF Medical Mission to Yantalo, Peru which will provide free care in General Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Family Medicine-Pediatrics. The mission will also donate 50 bicycles to school children that otherwise would have to walk to school for more than 45 minutes.
During the Gala, the organization recognized their volunteers who had traveled to Peru during past mission trips. Volunteers pay 100% of their travel accommodations, making it possible for all funds raised to be used strictly for providing medical and other services to the underserved and vulnerable children and adults. In addition to sponsoring the PAMS Gala, Cuidado Casero’s Executive Vice President, Doricelys Martinez, served as the gala’s co-chair and has been part of the planning committee since the organization’s first gala in 2011.
“I feel overwhelmingly fortunate to have taken part in a past medical mission trip with North Texas PAMS and seen first-hand how our services make a difference in the lives of many,” says Martinez. “What an honor it is to be part of a team of incredibly dedicated, capable, and compassionate individuals that make changes happen and a difference to the ones not fortunate to have access to the medical care that can be lifesaving.”
