Current Music Scores New Theme Song For The Premiere Lacrosse League Games on NBC and NBC Sports
NBC Sports Group has exclusively signed with the newly formed Premiere Lacrosse League (PLL), as the officially broadcaster of the games. The network reached out to Current Music to tap the team's EDM artists for a new theme song.
LOS ANGELES, June 2, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Premiere Lacrosse League will begin their inaugural 39-game season on Saturday, June 1st, with the first 2 games being live streamed to exclusive NBC Sports Gold subscribers. The PLL has a 6-team league, which features 160 of the best lacrosse players in the world.
To start things out with a bang, NBC contacted Christian Salyer of Current Music to commission a new theme song. They were looking for a big cinematic sound, with a strong melody and modern elements. Salyer reached out to his team of composers and in the end, NBC chose a piece by EDM artist, SLVRFX.
"I think they choose the "SLVRFX" piece over the others because right from the first demo, it sounded like a hit record, yet still had enough drama and cinematic melody to work for a TV theme. It instantly caught your ear and made you want to bounce your head," shared Salyer.
After the first 2 games streamed the weekend of June 1st and 2nd, NBC Sports will begin broadcasting the games, with NBC's coverage beginning Sunday, June 9th as Atlas and Chaos face off at the Red Bull Arena in New York at 2 p.m. ET.
