Current Boutique is Collecting Dresses for Prom
WASHINGTON (PRWEB) April 26, 2018 -- Current Boutique is seeking donations for new and gently used formal gowns, shoes and accessories for the Cozy Closet Prom Giveaway. The gowns and accessories will be provided free of charge to young ladies in area high schools who are unable to afford a prom gown. The collection site will be at the Current Boutique D.C. location, 1809 14th Street, NW Washington, DC 20011. Donations will be accepted now through 5/20.
The gowns and accessories will be sorted by the Current Boutique team. All donations should be in good condition, no older than 5 years old, and should be dry cleaned before they are donated. All items not chosen for the giveaway will be donated to Salvation Army.
The Cozy Closet Prom Giveaway partners with local high schools, Mckinley Technology High School, Calvin Coolidge High School and others.
The prom dress giveaway event will start May 10th - June 2nd at Current Boutique. Area high school students will be invited to the boutique to select a gown. Once a gown is selected, they will have the opportunity to get personally styled with shoes & accessories by Current Boutique’s in-house style guru Sam Lowery.
“Prom can put an enormous amount of financial pressure on parents and teenagers. The financial burden is often a determining factor if someone will go to Prom. We are excited to be able to offer Prom dresses and styling for free to create a fairy tale moment,” said the owner of Current Boutique, Carmen Lopez.

The Cozy Closet Prom Giveaway was started by Miranta Geneva as a way to give back to her community. She strives to lead by example to build and support women. She wants the young women of the DMV to feel supported by their community at this important time in their lives. The ability to give joy to so many high school women who otherwise could not afford the Cindarella story during this milestone event is a dream come true for her.
