Cyber Security Week: Together We Secure the Future, 2-5 October 2018, The Hague
Between 2 and 5 October, 2018, The Hague is hosting its third edition of international Cyber Security Week. With over 50 events during the course of the week and hundreds of experts on internet security and cybercrime from government, commercial sector, and academia, all sharing their knowledge and discussing the latest developments and presenting new innovative technology and ideas on cybersecurity.
THE HAGUE, Netherlands, Sept. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- For numerous reasons, cybersecurity has been featured in news headlines more and more frequently. Our digital security expressly requires innovative technologies based on international cooperation between countries and their respective cybersecurity experts and professionals. An important challenge that needs to be overcome is also the current lack of cybersecurity professionals with which governments, businesses and universities are having to contend with. By developing, training, educating and motivating cybersecurity talent as well as working together on innovative security solutions, the key themes of this 3rd edition of Cyber Security Week seek to remediate many of the issues facing cybersecurity in the modern era.
As an international data hub and digital entry point to Europe, the Netherlands plays an important role when it comes to tackling these threats and optimally guaranteeing the cybersecurity of our critical infrastructure.

Program
The parties participating in Cyber Security Week include CIPRE, The Incident Response Consortium and representatives from numerous security clusters from the UK, Ireland, Germany, Israel, USA, Canada, India and Japan. Many large and small technology companies specializing in cybersecurity will also be present. Together these experts will offer a wide range of interactive cyber games, challenges, presentations, workshops and showcases.
The first week of October will also see the start of the Alert Online Campaign and One Conference (2-3 October 2018), all in the context of European Cyber Security Month.
During CIPRE (2-4 October 2018), international cybersecurity experts will meet to share knowledge about protecting our critical infrastructure and other ICS related enviroments.
On 4-5 October 2018, the Fokker Terminal in The Hague will be the venue for the CSW Congress & Expo. The Congress comprises of a matchmaking-program, an "Access to Capital" event, an "Access to Talent" event, an "SME Cyber Awareness Event" and dozens of other workshops, sessions and keynotes relating to cybersecurity.
On 4-5 October 2018, there will be security operation and incident response training sessions, practical workshops and network meetings provided by the American Incident Response Consortium (http://www.IncidentResponse.com). Together, the IRC and its strategic partners will provide the CSW with sample playbooks, incident response plans and more. Working with automation technologies like CyberSponse, end-point technology from Symantec and Threat Intelligence technology from Anomali will demonstrate and aid in high speed cybersecurity incident response and remediation.
During the CSW Expo days [4-5 October 2018], national and international organisations will present their innovative cybersecurity solutions, methodologies and ideas.
Visitors
Cyber Security Week is expected to attract around 4,000 visitors.
These include:
- Cybersecurity professionals from 70 countries
- Dutch SMEs which recognise cybersecurity as a risk for their business and are looking for cutting edge solutions.
- Start-ups/scale-ups and investors meetings during the Access to Capital event.
- Students and young professionals will also be offered a targeted program during the "Access to Talent" event.
Cyber Security Week is an initiative of The Hague Security Delta (HSD), a network of companies, public authorities and knowledge organisations working together on knowledge development and innovations in the field of security. The Cyber Security Week is being funded by the city of The Hague.
