Acevedo's professional experience across various industries brings a one-of-a-kind perspective to the data security leader's board. She began her career as a rocket scientist for NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory before moving on to executive roles at organizations like IBM, Dell, and Apple.
Looking to inspire the rising generation to pursue STEM careers, Acevedo penned her best-selling middle school memoir Path to the Stars. In the same vein, during her time with the Girls Scouts of the USA, she led the introduction of 18 new cybersecurity badges and spearheaded over 126 badge programs focused on educating young girls on STEM. These initiatives for the next generation were key contributors to her designation as the 2018 Cybersecurity Person of the Year.
Additionally, Acevedo was on President Obama's White House Initiative for Educational Excellence for Hispanics, serving as the Chair of the committee that drove early childhood education policy. She leads speaking engagements on Leadership, Innovation, STEM, and Cybersecurity, which drives her creativity and leadership as a Titaniam board member.
