Winter Solstice and Chakra Healing Meditation Event to Benefit At-Risk Youth in Nicaragua
Washington, DC (PRWEB) December 19, 2013 -- Dahn Yoga’s Washington DC center will host a special Winter Solstice Event on December 21st at 2pm, at 700 14th Street NW, Washington, DC 20005. There they will be accepting donations for Dahn Yoga Foundation’s Nicaragua Project. This event will help support continued yoga classes and leadership development programs for at-risk youth at Casa Alianza in Managua, Nicaragua.
What started out as Dahn Yoga classes for staff at Casa Alianza, a shelter for at-risk and abused youth, soon evolved into a very special project that is touching many lives. Led by Rebecca Wheaton, a Dahn Yoga instructor and Massage Therapist, classes in yoga and energy meditation benefit students as well as staff.
In honor of the spirit of giving fostered during the holiday season, the
Washington DC Dahn Yoga Center is helping Dahn Yoga Foundation raise money for the Nicaragua Project. The Washington DC Center takes a special interest, because it is where Rebecca received her training as a Dahn Yoga instructor and this location is a pioneer in offering Dahn Yoga in Spanish.
The Dahn Yoga Studio is excited to host a special event on the Winter Solstice to include a screening of the award winning documentary, “CHANGE – The LifeParticle Effect,” and a Chakra Healing Meditation. Donations will help Dahn Yoga Foundation’s Nicaragua Project provide materials, workshops and more trainer-volunteers.

About the Dahn Yoga Foundation:
Inspired by the early efforts of Dahn Yoga creator Ilchi Lee, who began teaching classes in a public park in Korea, Dahn Yoga Foundation supports community-based yoga classes which are offered free of charge or at substantially reduced rates. The Dahn Yoga Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity, was founded in 2006 to organize and expand the scope of these community outreach classes.
