Dallas CIO Leadership Association Announces Recipients of 2020 CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards

Executives from Imprimis Group, Inc., Pizza Hut, TGI FRIDAYS, Vistra Energy, At Home, Tyler Technologies, Corsicana Mattress Company, and Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Recognized for their Achievements

The Dallas CIO Leadership Association (DallasCIO) announced the winners of its 2020 CIO of the Year® ORBIE® Awards. DallasCIO recognized chief information officers in eight key categories – Leadership, Super Global, Global, Large Enterprise, Enterprise, Large Corporate, Corporate and Nonprofit/Public Sector. The Awards were presented at the Dallas CIO of the Year Awards at the Hyatt Regency Dallas.

“The DallasCIO ORBIE winners prove the value of great leadership - the x-factor that converts technology into business results,” according to Lourdes Gipson, Executive Director of DallasCIO. “These awards are meaningful because they are judged by peers. CIOs who understand how difficult this job is and why great leadership matters.”

The 2020 Dallas CIO of the Year ORBIE Award winners are:

›› Valerie Freeman, CEO, Imprimis Group, Inc., received the Leadership CIO of the Year ORBIE.

›› Carol Clements, CTO, Pizza Hut, received the Super Global ORBIE for organizations over $10 billion annual revenue & multi-national operations.

›› Sherif Mityas, Chief Experience Officer & CIO, TGI FRIDAYS, received the Global ORBIE for organizations over $1 billion annual revenue & multi-national operations.

›› Ravi Malick, SVP & CIO, Vistra Energy, received the Large Enterprise ORBIE for organizations over $3 billion annual revenue.

›› Sumit Anand, Chief Strategy Officer & CIO, At Home, received the Enterprise ORBIE for organizations over $1.25 billion annual revenue.

›› Matt Bieri, EVP & CIO, Tyler Technologies, received the Large Corporate ORBIE for organizations over $500 million annual revenue.

›› Rusty Kennington, CIO, Corsicana Mattress Company, received the Corporate ORBIE for organizations up to $500 million annual revenue.

›› Tommy Alsbrooks, SVP & CIO, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, received the Nonprofit/Public Sector ORBIE for not-for-profit organizations.

The CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards is the premier technology executive recognition program in the United States. Since inception in 1998, over 1,000 CIOs have been honored as finalists and over 200 CIO of the Year winners have received the prestigious ORBIE Award. The ORBIE honors chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership. Finalists and winners are selected by an independent peer review process, led by prior ORBIE recipients, based upon:
