900lbs, an interactive design agency specializing in emerging technologies, announced this week that it has developed a state-of-the-art Augmented Reality sales tool for Visit Seattle highlighting Washington State’s newest convention center, The Summit, alongside their existing facility, The Arch.

The agency leveraged AR software in a unique way to showcase the benefits of their convention center facilities, utilizing Surface Pro 4 tablet devices. The user can navigate through technical floor plans, blueprints, textured architectural renderings, 3D city models, and space offering statistics to provide visualization of the existing Arch and the new Summit still under construction.

“Giving the event planning and sales team an all-in-one visualization tool allows Visit Seattle to showcase a whole program plan to meeting and event planners in a truly unique way,” said Steve Deitz, CEO and Founder of 900lbs.

Heather Jones, Director of Client Services, said “the 'Layered View' of the app is a game-changer. It gives users the ability to intuitively navigate through building floors, technical space details and visitor flow.”

The case study and video are showcased on the agency’s website. The final product is being utilized by over 40 event planners nationwide. The AR tool is now helping drive conversion of event booking during sales presentations with meeting and event planners, major corporations and event groups. The Augmented Reality tool was designed to help Visit Seattle’s customers become immersed in a visually compelling environment – creating new ways to explore and experience the Washington State Convention Center buildings and the benefits that Seattle has to offer meeting and convention attendees.

According to Deitz, 900lbs' wide range of capabilities allow them to creatively integrate A/V hardware, gamified systems, thoughtful front-end user interface designs, Hollywood-level visual effects and 3D environments, and flexible backend content management systems -- all in an effort to create a custom-feeling and game changing experience design for customers.

The company's website and YouTube channel show that 900lbs is trusted by clients such as Royal Caribbean, Bell, Frito Lay, NTT Data, Red Bull, Dallas Cowboys, Mack Truck, Interstate Batteries, NCR and Resideo.
