Joining the NSBC...reflects our commitment to the Council's goals and visions...For both of our organizations, safe boating practices are a top priority.

DAN Boater, one of the most recognized names in travel safety, proudly announces it has joined the National Safe Boating Council (NSBC) as a Patron member.

Recognized as the premier organization in recreational boating safety, the NSBC is a membership organization boasting over 500 U.S. and international members committed to reducing boating accidents and enhancing the boating experience through education, outreach, and training.

Similarly, DAN Boater offers a treasure trove of resources—articles, videos, and free health and safety guides— geared to boating and travel safety, all accessible from NSBC’s website at https://www.safeboatingcouncil.org/resources.

“Joining the NSBC as a Patron, the highest tiered membership level available, reflects our commitment to the Council’s goals and visions, which, in numerous ways, mirror those of DAN Boater," confirms William Ziefle, President and CEO of DAN. “For both of our organizations, safe boating practices are a top priority.”

“We appreciate DAN Boater’s strong commitment to recreational boating safety,” says Peg Phillips, NSBC Executive Director, “and are thrilled to add them to our network of professionals in the commercial realm, the nonprofit sector, and individuals that want to make boating a safer and more enjoyable experience.”

Since its inception in 1980, DAN has handled more than 10,000 emergency medical evacuations, fielded over 100,000 emergency calls, and spent more than 300,000 medical resource hours on duty. DAN Boater remains committed to helping travelers in need of medical emergency assistance and continues to promote good travel health and safety practices through research, education, and traveler assistance services.
