Lawrence Completes Principal Accelerator Program, establishes SMB Accounting and Tax Practice in Grafton, West Virginia
GRAFTON, W.V., July 20, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Dark Horse CPAs, a top accounting and tax firm serving small businesses and individuals across the nation, announces the promotion of Tina Lawrence to Principal. Tina's relationships with clients and colleagues alike, high quality work and client service, as well as a positive and collaborative mindset earned her a seat at the table, becoming an equity Principal of the firm.
Tina entered the Dark Horse Principal Accelerator Program in December 2021, methodically and intentionally building a 6-figure practice. Her smile, laughter and expertise are what has earned her the respect of her clients and colleagues. She loves to support the rural small businesses in and around West Virginia, although she doesn't discriminate as she has many clients across the U.S. Due to the aforementioned, the decision was made to promote her to Principal effective February 2023.
Speaking to the challenges posed by the Accelerator Program, Tina stated, "while I've known I wanted to run a CPA practice most of my adult life, the ability to be successful in both professional goals and family life is never easy. Having a supportive family and knowing what you want and where you want to go is the key to success. Even beyond the Accelerator Program, this will always be an area of focus for me."
When asked about the most rewarding aspect of her journey in the Accelerator Program, she responded, "being able to serve clients across the country at the level I'm able to at Dark Horse has been a rewarding experience. In regard to what differed most from her expectations, she explained, "I was able to find my stride quicker than I expected without having to recreate the wheel. Having a safety net with great mentors really speeds up the learning curve. I can now see the work I've put in really starting to pay off. Additionally, I've been able to attract A-players to my team through Dark Horse's talent-facing brand and reputation."
And, as to what she would want other potential Accelerators to know about the Program, "it provides you with the support and training needed to start your practice the right way so that you don't build a practice you have to re-construct later. It's crucial to believe in the value you bring to the table so that you don't undercharge and thus limit the scalability of your practice. Dark Horse leadership and my colleagues actively helped me leverage the technology available at the firm and shared experiences and wisdom from those who came before me to make sure I built my practice the right way."
Moving forward, Tina looks forward to, "growing and developing my team to provide even greater value for my clients. My goal is to put the right people in the right positions on my team so that they can reach their potential. To the extent I'm able to do that, the client service will follow."
