Datafy LLC, creator of an automated SaaS workflow solution that collects and assesses healthcare data privacy criteria, announced an agreement with Rx.Health, an aggregator of health tech applications that integrates with major electronic health record (EHR) systems.
The strategic alignment enables faster onboarding and adoption of clinically-validated health technologies by automating the process of HIPAA compliance reviews.
“Many new medical treatments today incorporate a digital component involving patient data,” said David Barnett, CEO of Datafy. “This proliferation of digital health therapies has placed a tremendous administrative burden upon hospitals, health systems and their vendors to comply with regulations governing the secure handling of information. Our solution automates a tedious process and enables the vendors on Rx.Health’s platform to deliver viable, compliant health solutions more quickly.”
Rx.Health Vice President Gaurav Narang added, “We are very excited to feature Datafy’s automated compliance process as part of our platform’s added value. We validate hundreds of digital assets including apps, remote monitoring solutions, digital therapeutics (DTx) and other digital enablers before stitching them together in rules-based clinically curated digital navigation pathways (DNPs) for both fee-for-service and at-risk population in ACO and bundles. Our relationship with Datafy will reduce the time required for our vendors and clinicians to fulfill a compliance review and allow faster access to newer DNPs.”
As part of the working relationship, digital health vendors will participate in a HIPAA compliance review process led by Datafy, in addition to the clinical validation assessed by Rx.Health. Hospitals, health systems and clinical care providers will know if a vendor on the Rx.Health platform successfully meets minimum criteria for information security.
Originally developed and piloted at Mount Sinai Health System, the Rx.Health platform currently features more than 300 innovative digital therapies available to prescribing clinicians. It offers full integration with existing EHR systems to allow for the inclusion of various digital assets in conjunction with current treatments.
Datafy streamlines the process of documenting patient data protections and healthcare information security compliance. As a subscription platform, it supports healthcare delivery systems and IT vendors with a simplified, cloud-based workflow that allows for the easy exchange of information and collaboration via a standardized security template.
