DaVinci Designer Demonstrates Design for Print Proofing Tool at Drupa 2016
Las Vegas, Nev. (PRWEB) June 17, 2016 -- Developed by Opensoft Inc., DaVinci Designer(DaVinci) showcased its online web-to-print tool at drupa, the No. 1 trade show for print and cross media solutions. Held May 31-June 10 in Dusseldorf, Germany, the 11-day show introduced technology innovations and new business lines for the global print industry.
The print customization application allows customers to design and immediately display 3D proofs. Spanning across 19 exhibition halls, DaVinci’s product demonstration in Hall 6 was both enticing and engaging.
Its instant visualization provides a design for print solution that eliminates the need for physical proofs. To demonstrate its capabilities, attendees could even select web search images at the booth to test the proofing of CMYK color, texture, foil and spot gloss.
“The challenge was to show the customer - over the internet - what these creations would actually look like once they are in hand. The look and feel simply do not come across on a flat 2D monitor as they do physically. DaVinci changes all that,” explained Brett Heap, CEO, Opensoft Inc.
Presenting physical samples of special embossed finishes and textures helped attendees connect the digital 3D proofer with the tactile result, according to Jeffrey Aragon, software sales executive, DaVinci.
Generating interest among distributors in South America and Asia, including India, DaVinci offers innovative solutions for a range of vertical markets. Designers were impressed with the interactive, real-time editing features while promotional packaging clients, who typically present physical proofs to customers, were attracted to the realistic 3D graphic design software.
“Our goal is to be the go-to solution for representing any 3-dimensional product within a browser for the full visual effect without requiring the cost of physical proofs,” commented Donald Coffin, product manager, DaVinci Designer.
DaVinci equips print resellers and trade printers with advanced design capabilities, but it also provides delivery through InkRouter, a bi-directional API technology that facilitates product matching between print sellers and trade printers. Also a product of Opensoft Inc., the API service rounds out offerings from design to delivery.
