Daytop of New Jersey, Inc. Announces New Members of Board of Trustees
Mendham, New Jersey (PRWEB) January 14, 2015 -- “We are pleased to welcome two new business and community leaders to Daytop New Jersey’s Board of Trustees,” said Jim Curtin, President and CEO of Daytop New Jersey, a comprehensive substance abuse treatment and education program facility based in Mendham, New Jersey.
Robert A. Bianchi, Esq., Morris County Prosecutor 2007-2013; Founding Partner, The Bianchi Law Group, LLC, West Caldwell, NJ and Thomas R. Calcagni, Founding Partner; Calcagni and Kanefsky, Newark, NJ are now members of Daytop New Jersey’s Board of Trustees. “I look forward to working closely with Robert Bianchi and Tom Calcagni as new additions to an already strong Board of Trustees. Both individuals bring a fresh perspective, understanding and commitment to the mission of Daytop New Jersey,” commented Curtin.
Robert A. Bianchi served as the Morris County Prosecutor (2007-2013), after being nominated by the Governor with the full advice and unanimous consent of the New Jersey State Senate in June, 2007. His position as a former lead County Prosecutor impressively sets him apart as a criminal defense attorney. He is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Certified Criminal Trial Attorney, only 1 of 250 in New Jersey. He is the only Certified Criminal Trial Attorney in the entire state of New Jersey who has also served as the head County Prosecutor.
As the County Prosecutor, he was the chief law enforcement officer for all of Morris County, New Jersey and ran the entire operations of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, its attorneys, detectives and support staff, for all investigations and prosecutions occurring in Morris County. Prosecutor Bianchi also had oversight of every police department and municipal prosecutor in the Morris County. Mr. Bianchi is now in private practice and works extensively with mental health and addiction professionals, frequently lecturing on these topics to the community. Mr. Bianchi is a nationally recognized legal expert and he appears regularly on national TV programs to explain the legal system and trial practice.
Thomas R. Calcagni recently served as New Jersey’s First Assistant Attorney General, the State’s second highest-ranking prosecutor. He also served as Director of the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, where he managed New Jersey’s 46 professional boards, oversaw the State’s Controlled Dangerous Substances program and launched the Division’s multi-tiered effort to combat prescription drug abuse and diversion – including Project Medicine Drop, the State’s 365-day prescription drug take-back initiative and the New Jersey Prescription Monitoring Program. Mr. Calcagni also devised and directed the State’s efforts outlawing dangerous designer drugs. Prior to joining the State, Mr. Calcagni served for nine years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office, District of New Jersey, where he conducted sensitive investigations and prosecutions of public corruption, narcotics trafficking, and other complex crimes.
“The Mission of Daytop Village of New Jersey, Inc. is to provide highly effective and accessible Behavioral Health Services, restoring hope and improving the quality of life for persons served, their families and our communities,” said Mr. Curtin.
