Deer Path of Huntley Affordable Assisted Living Invites Area Residents to Relaxation Event
Bradley, Illinois (PRWEB) April 09, 2015 -- Deer Path of Huntley, a Gardant affordable assisted living community, invites area residents to stop in for a day of relaxation on April 23.
The community, which is located at 12500 Regency Parkway in Huntley, Illinois, serves adults with physical disabilities between the ages of 22 and 64.
“Life can get hectic, and we’d like to create an environment where people can come to Deer Path to relax their mind, body and soul,” said the community’s Director of Marketing Gail Williams.
The day’s events will include the following activities:
- Robin Lapins, a Deer Path resident and former makeup and facial consultant with Macy's, will share summer skin care tips from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- Kristy Buckman, a certified instructor who teaches regular classes at Deer Path, will lead a Tai Chi session from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Helen Gomberg will bring her comfort dogs -- Rooney, Jazzy and Honey Buns -- in for residents and guests to enjoy.

Deer Path opened in 2013 and combines residential apartment-home living with the availability of personal assistance, help with medications, and a variety of convenience and support services, such as meals, housekeeping and laundry.
Residents live in private apartments that they furnish and decorate to their tastes. Each of the apartments features a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, and emergency alert system.
Certified nursing assistants, working under the direction of a licensed nurse, are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
"We provide a community for adults that gives them an alternative to living in a nursing home with a much older population or struggling alone at home," Williams said. "Our community meets the unique needs and interests of residents, and they've made our community their home."
Residents also benefit from opportunities to socialize with neighbors and participate in activities and special programs.
The community has an activity room, beauty salon/barber shop, computer lab, convenience store, therapy room, a service dog training area and basketball court.
Deer Path is certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program, which emphasizes personal choice, dignity, privacy and individuality. The community is managed by Gardant Management Solutions, of Bradley, Illinois.
