We support CMMC as a holistic, long-term, industry-wide program but improving data security is an urgent, addressable national security need. We can help with that right now.
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (PRWEB) December 01, 2020
Defenseforce, Inc. today released the first of its suite of expert solutions to help defense contractors improve their data security protections now, while preparing for CMMC certification in the future. HEADSTART, a free online survey, was developed around the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification requirements for Levels 1-5.
“We wanted to take a different approach to the problem that CMMC addresses,” said Daniel W. Berger, CEO and Co-founder of Defenseforce. “We support CMMC as a holistic, long-term, industry-wide program but improving data security is an urgent, addressable national security need. We can help with that right now,."
The HEADSTART questionnaire provides defense contractors with a preliminary view of their current CMMC level and question-by-question explanations relating to the 17 CMMC domains. The free HEADSTART questionnaire can be accessed via the Defenseforce website. Check your rating at https://www.defenseforce.com
From there, users can order a custom report of recommendations for a small fee. The intelligence in the report replicates much of the typical security risk assessment process using logic and inference, based on decades of cybersecurity and compliance experience. Defenseforce also provides autonomous solutions for the discovery, classification, and monitoring of sensitive data (such as FCI and CUI) with proactive alerts on policy violations and/or suspicious behavior.
The CMMC Interim Rule takes effect today, December 1st, 2020. Shortly, the Department of Defense is expected to announce the names of 15 pilot contracts which require CMMC certification at the appropriate level. It is anticipated that those contracts will require work from over 1,500 subcontractors, all of whom will require certification.
Based in Santa Barbara, CA, Defenseforce was founded by members of the former executive team at Redspin, Inc. Under their leadership, Redspin became a nationally recognized expert in healthcare cybersecurity, conducting HIPAA risk assessments for 150 hospitals as well as >1,000 ambulatory clinics and business associates.
