QUAKERTOWN, Pa. (PRWEB) November 16, 2020
On Veterans Day 2020, U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia, VETS Assistant Secretary John Lowry and Sgt. Maj. of the Army Michael Grinston hosted a virtual ceremony at the Department’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. recognizing Demco Automation for its second consecutive Gold Medallion Award. As part of the 2020 HIRE Vets Medallion Award Program all recipients were honored for their commitment to recruiting, hiring and retaining veterans.
The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) is the only federal-level veterans’ employment award that recognizes a job creators’ commitment to hiring American military veterans.
This year, the company is recognized as one of only 27 within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and 675 across the country. “We are honored to receive this award from the U.S. Department of Labor for the second consecutive year.” says Stephen Maund, President & CEO of Demco Automation. “Our team includes military veterans from the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Their experience has prepared them well as they contribute their technical expertise every day. As we continue to expand our advanced-technology offerings, their mission experiences are a tremendous value to our company, customers, and partners alike.”
“Each year roughly 200,000 American men and women transition from military to civilian life. The organizations we recognize today are helping these men and women find careers where they can apply the skill and leadership they gained through their service in the Armed Forces.” said Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia. “Because of the special role these companies have played in supporting veterans in the workforce, it’s a privilege to honor them today.”
