ATLANTA, Oct. 14, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Inc. this week announced its third annual Female Founders 100 list, honoring an influential, ambitious, and diverse group of 100 women who are building America's most inspiring businesses.
The final list honors entrepreneurs of every age, background, and geography—from very early-stage founders with world-changing ideas to women who have taken companies public, sold them to big buyers, or spent decades building and running their businesses. These women are leading innovative companies in a vast range of global industries, including tech, retail, finance, fitness, health care, consumer products, food, and more.
"To be recognized among innovative, ambitious and inspiring women like Tracee Ellis Ross and Canva founder Melanie Perkins is an honor beyond measure," said Tonya Lanthier, RDH, Founder and CEO of DentalPost.
A registered dental hygienist-turned-entrepreneur, Lanthier created DentalPost with a goal of improving lives by creating a better way for dental professionals to connect, learn and grow their careers. "After I became a mom to twins, I started temping because I needed more flexibility in my schedule," Lanthier added. "I knew there had to be a better way for dental professionals like myself to find temp and permanent jobs, and for dental practices to fill gaps on their teams."
Today, DentalPost is the dental industry's premiere and largest online and mobile job board for permanent and immediate temp jobs, connecting and educating more than 850,000 dental professionals with nearly 70,000 dental offices in the U.S. and Canada.
"What started as a job board to help dental clinicians find jobs to pay the bills or buy that dream home, turned into something bigger— it helped dental professionals and practice owners find the right fit for them that feels like home and like family. Building better dental teams ultimately helps us better serve and care for our patients. And that will always be a passion of mine," said Lanthier.
Tonya's commitment to philanthropy and community are at the heart of her personal and professional endeavors. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA), Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO), a supporter of AACD's Give Back a Smile program and a volunteer at several charitable organizations including Georgia Mission of Mercy (GMOM) and Ben Mansell Clinic. Tonya is also a board member of the Oral Cancer Cause and Dental Entrepreneur Women. Holding fast to the belief that empowered women empower women, Tonya introduced "Dental Impact Group" and hosted the first-ever Registered Dental Hygienist Entrepreneur Women's Summit, bringing together industry change-makers aligned in their commitment to improve lives in business, health, leadership, relationships and personal growth.
Inc. editors and writers spent the past year researching candidates for the list, considering a wealth of exciting and accomplished candidates. For the first time, Inc. also invited founders to apply for the list—and to nominate another founder who has particularly impressed them. Each of the founders selected has left her mark on her industry in the past year, by setting audacious goals or by achieving business milestones. Taken together, they represent the female-led future of business.
"Our team vetted thousands of applications to find the 100 women highlighted on this list. It's the most inspiring work we do all year, and we're so thrilled to be able to feature these fierce, accomplished entrepreneurs and start to give them the recognition they deserve," said Inc. editor-at-large Kimberly Weisul.
